Parking an RV in Raleigh NC

We will be visiting our son in Raleigh (actually Apex) NC during the weekends of June 6th and 20th. We will be staying with him in his apartment. There is no where to park the Motor Home on the street near his place.

Has anyone had this situation? I am trying to figure out where to park a 40th motor home for two weekends in a city I have never visited. He just moved there and doesn't know the city well. Any suggestions. Thanks.

Bill Plemmons is quite a little ways from Apex. I have stayed there before when we had to get out of our house because of water damage. Frankly, I did not feel comfortable there. That area is not in the best part of town.
If I were you, I would leave it at the NC State Fairgrounds. N.C. State Fairgrounds camping. RV recreational vehicle camping near RBC Center, I-40, Downtown Raleigh, Umstead State Park, NCSU North Carolina State University Carter-Finley football stadium, NC Museum of Art.
It is only $25 per night and is patrolled by security 24/7. Good luck and feel free to contact me for more info. We go there a lot.

I have stayed at both places and I would agree that the fairgrounds would be my choice. They have parking on the fairgrounds and at the horse show arena plus another area up on the hill. Just park your coach and they'll come find you and collect the money!

Another place closer to Apex would be Jordan Lake SRC/Crosswinds Campground. It is a few miles west of Apex on US 64. For visiting in Apex, that would be my first choice and is the closest. My second choice would be the Fairgrounds as previously stated.

Hi,

Is the NC Fairgrounds near the biking trails that are in Raleigh?
