Parking (camping) on the street in front of a family members house.

There is a family reunion type get together in my future. Some plans have changed, and now due to reservation / house space, we are being asked if we could bring our travel trailer and use it in the street. This seems like something the local town police would have an issue with due to it being a public road.

Any input? Legal, yes no?

Have the person whose house your being asked to park in front of to check with the city where they are located for ordinances regarding no parking of RVs, or, for time slots when no parking is allowed on city streets. JMHO

Best of luck in finding an answer.

Some places ok, some places a no-no. You might find out for sure by calling the pd and asking...?

Without knowing the local town you want legal advice?

If your not going to be there for more than a few days...what's the harm...although if its a main road, I'm not sure that's a great idea. In that case I would use CG.

Seems like we are all on the same page here.

It would be nice to have a getaway from the family and be at a campsite, but the girlfriend has made her decision, no discussion there. But thanks Russell.

No Walmart there, but good advice.

I think its only 2 nights, so we should be fine in that case.

No, I don't want legal advice, I meant did anyone know of a particular instance where they had been told it was illegal or legal by a town or law enforcement officer.

I think we will just see what happens, its a very private street with little to no traffic. And from what I am being told, the neighbors don't have a problem with it.

Thank you everyone for your input.

The better the neighborhood the more likely some neighbor will complain.

FWIW with other vehicles I have found calling the local police while I made arrangements kept vehicles from being towed for violating the overnight parking ordnance. It really does not hurt to call and ask. Usually they will tell you without a lot of hassle.
