Passport America - shoulda read more carefully

We are headed out this morning for a month or so. I went online last Wednesday to sign up for Passport America. I added the extra $15 fee to get the materials shipped 2 day express. Lets see, Wed, Thursday, Friday. Should be OK right? Not exactly. Found out that they don't process orders until the day after they are received. And shipped out the next day. So I guess FedEx will bring it and sit it in my carport where it may sit until after I get back around Thanksgiving.

PLEASE, I'm not blaming PA, I should have read the fine print.

My membership expired while we were on the road. I called them and they emailed me confirmation on membership. I just printed it out in case I needed it. All you will need at the CG is your membership number which will be on the confirmation email.

As stated, the Passport America web site has all of the information for the camp grounds that participate in their program. Make sure you check them out on their web site for updated information and the specific restrictions for each CG.

Happy trails.

A Passport America campground can also call Passport America to confirm your membership. They have done that for me in the past.

Yep, you all are correct! I just needed to calm down a bit. We pulled into a CG tonight and I simply gave them my PA number and expire date and had no problem at all. I do know that all the info is available online. I was just concerned about a couple of campgrounds that in the info on the PA site stated that the PA Card must be presented at check in.

Anyway, on the road now and all is well. Thanks for all the replies.

Thanks all, and we are enjoying! Especially this nice central Texas weather. There may be frost at home but we are back to summer here. Nice.

Right now we are just west of Austin near Bee Cave north of Dripping Springs. Originally we had plans to go to Big Bend NP and Fort Davis. But I think I over planned. We want to be home by Thanksgiving, and the distance is just too great to have a leisurely trip in that time. I think we are going down toward Kerrville/Bandera area for a few days then make our way back east from there.
