Post Pecan Park Riverside Resort - New Braunfels, TX

Just a note about this park. We were planning to stay at Pecan Park Riverside Resort in New Braunfels, TX last night. When we arrived we were met with devastation and disaster. This park was park of the major flooding in the area on Halloween. Lots of insurance agents in the park assessing the damage. Motorhomes, 5th Wheels and tow vehicles with major damage or complete loss. Looks like the water level was up about 4' by the damage! Very sad to see. As hubby said the appeal to having that river view isn't always a good choice. I will definitely think differently about that now, it is not important!

Prayers for anyone that was involved in this horrible event.

We are staying at Hill Country RV in New Braunfels, and when we checked in we were told that a few other parks in the area had been impacted as well. If you are coming through this area be sure to make sure your RV park is up and running.

Thanks for the information. Shows to go on any other travelers to the area need to call ahead and see if there are any problems in getting into a site.

Hill Country RV is a nice stopping point. Pretty much centrally located to SA and Austin, plus the hill country.

The Alamo and River Walk might be on your list of things to see. Right behind the Alamo on the corner of E. Houston St. and Bonham St is a parking lot. They charge $10 a day for parking. Directly across from the Alamo are the steps down to the River Walk.

Enjoy your stay.

Picture worth 1000 words Zoom in to see parking lot.

ONO I was just going to email them about staying there the 1st of the year. Do you think they might have it ready to open when the water goes down.
I also will consider staying close to water. God Bless

I don't know if they will be back in good shape by then. We didn't talk to anyone on the park property. It was complete devastation so I guess just give a call and see what they say. Good Luck.
