PEI campgrounds, need advice

I am looking at campgrounds on PEI and hope you will provide some kindly advice.
I will be caravaning with about 5 coaches to PEI for about 2 weeks starting about August 1st. Our rigs are between 38 and 42 feet. Being somewhat local to a re-supply town is needed.
This will be our first visit to this area, and realize that the most we can get is just a taste of it.
We plan to stay at one or two CGs and prefer FHU but W/E is okay. Larger CGs where we may have a chance to be grouped together is also prefered.
I have my eye on a few CGs and have seen the reviews, but look to expand our choices.
We thank you kindly!

It's been a handful of years since we were there and I don't remember where we stayed. I'll check with DW tomorrow and see if she remembers. It's a beautiful area though and I'm sure you'll enjoy your time there.

We stayed at Cornwall/Charlottetown KOA the summer of 2014. It is off the beaten-path, yet within a few miles of shopping districts. They had their original CG that is mostly shaded, and an overflow/rally CG in an open grassy area surrounded by trees, all sites are FHU except near the waterfront.
I would pick this RV park again if we choose to make a return trip.
However, unless you choose to do a lot of driving in your car, I would move to around to different parts of the island to reduce driving times.http://gorving.ca/locator/campground...edward-island/

Are you driving the same route to/from the island? You pay the toll onto the island only, the opposite direction is "free". We took the ferry to the island and drove the bridge from the island, it's cheaper that way, as the bridge toll is higher than the ferry trip.

We stayed here

Twin Shores Camping Area | Darnley, Prince Edward Island

Beautiful CG, full hookups, big rig friendly.
It is out on the far western end of PEI, but no problems on
supplies, they had a good store. And since we were driving
all around the island, we had plenty of options for shopping.
It is a unique island, and we very much enjoyed our visit.
Checked out other CGs but really liked Twin Shores the best,
for what we wanted.

We were there in 2013 and split our time between Twin Shores and Charlottetown KOA; both were very nice with good water views. There is a lot to see in PEI for the first time visitor and mussels to die for. When we were there, the toll was paid leaving PEI not entering. We took the bridge onto the island and the ferry to Nova Scotia when we left. The whole visit was enjoyable.

Tolls for PEI

Just small point of correction:
Tolls are collected when leaving PEI either by the Confederation Bridge or by Ferry.
Here is the link regarding the bridge:
The Confederation Bridge
Enjoy your visit

Might be interesting to see how many Escapee members end up in the Maritime this summer since Escapade is in Vermont. We are seriously considering making a trip from there.

Kind of like waking up and not remembering where you are. Or, caring.
