Pensacola Help

looking to relocate to the Gulf Shores for winter. Anybody have recommendations as far as where to stay long term? My husband wants to be close to the water...within a mile or two. We are mid-30's...Full Timers...and have no place in particular we need to be. Spent last summer in Alaska, now we are thinking we should be by the beach for this winter. We are thinking the Pensacola area, maybe within 30 miles or so? Any help would be appreciated! Thank You All So Much!

Pensacola is not all that warm in the winter. If you are looking for fun and sun at the beach, you will need to go further south.

you said "looking to relocate" - do you mean moving there permanently? If so, there are many, many places along the Gulf but be careful about the ones right on the water because they do get hurricane damage.

If you meant an RV park, we love Gulf State Park, Gulf Shores, Alabama. It's withing a nice bike ride to the beach and the community offers a lot of good restaurants and shopping. For winter, you can spend months at a time there until Spring Break unlike many state parks with a 2-week limit. The sites are huge with full-hookups.

It's a nice area in the summer, winters can be darned cold. If you go near Pensacola, be sure to see the Naval Air Museum, it shouldn't be missed. Provided of course, the government gets open again.

Although Pensacola is still warmer than Alaska you may want to go a little further South. Bradenton is a nice area but as mentioned the further South you go the more $$$$ you pay.

Don't look past Gulf Shores/Orange beach, Alabama. A very short ride from Pensacola, and several places on or close to the water. I live in Pensacola, and prefer heading to gulf shores myself. There is also a nice spot in Perdido(about 1/2 way between, but on the way)
Have fun.
