Hi there, we traveled the route in early Sept. 2010. In 5 years of owning my 5th wheel I had never broken a thing until I drove the route along the St. lawrence to Perce Rock, the vista is fantastic but at that time the road was a mess. My travel log is in storage in the Coach, I'll pull it ASAP and get back to you with the name of the camp ground, and re-post.
A working knowage of French is very ,very helpful , when traveling in Quebec, and New Brunswick, many road signs in the area have no English on them, and many in the service industry are not realy bi-lingual. some major chain resturants would have an English menu available, my 45 year old high-school French barely got by in many situations.

No more driving on those horrible Quebec roads for me. Heading to Nova Scotia from Ontarip and am taking the USA route. By the way: route from 417 is under major construction until next year.

Good luck!

Still looking for the trip log, I know it's here somewhere. A quick thought in the mean -time , around 1/2 of the campgrounds in the eastern provinces and states are Passport America, and give discounts to members. Our membership paid for its-self on the third night. My DW just handed me the log book , " Camping Cote Surprise " was the spot we stayed at. $38 no CCards accepted. Another thing my DW had in her notes , the whole Gaspe region was very expensive, groceries & restraunts. Many are cash only because they are only open 5 months of the year, and in Perce we could only find 1 ATM for cash. There were other camp grounds in the town but none had a better view. Safe Travels .
