We are going up for their fall harvest weekend soon. I've heard it's the nicest KOA in the state and it gets really good reviews. Has anyone here been there ?? We are going to drive through the "Tunnel of Trees" and go to the Legg's Inn for dinner. I've never been there either.

We are from Traverse City so we know the area well. Since we are only an hour away we have never stayed at the KOA. You will love your drive and dinner. All of the campgrounds in the area are nice. Be sure to stop in Harbor Springs for a walk and take in a local restaurant.

I've been to that KOA several times. One of the nicest in the entire KOA system. It is a bit pricey (like most KOA's) but is very nice. A great location for exploring the Petoskey area and then some. The drive is nice, and do be sure to stop in Harbor Springs. You might also plan a stop at the State Park beach and hunt for Petoskey stones, there are plenty there.

We are back and we had a great time. It was a pretty campground, though our site (36) was really tight and unlevel !! We had beautiful weather for the weekend. We drove through the tunnel of trees and went to Leg's Inn where we are out on the patio at sunset. Very nice.

We had a nice view from inside the motorhome.

Sounds like you had a great time. We try to get to the area several times a year. This year and last are the exceptions due to some health problems with DW. I hope to be retired by next spring, so things will change for the better next year. We usually opt for one of the pull through sites infront of the office when we are there, although the wooded sites are very nice also. You should expect to receive their newsletter sometime in January to plan your 2008 foray to the area.
