Pets at Ouabache State Park in IN??

I'm getting conflicting info on whether pets are allowed in the campground at Oubache state park in Indiana. Does anyone know if dogs are not allowed there? (ReserveAmerica says no).

Thanks for that link Palehorse! I haven't heard of may state parks that don't allow a pet or two, but didn't know what to make of the info from ReserveAmerica.

RA isn't always correct when it comes to state park info. Found that out more than once.

Best bet is to call the park directly.

I did call them today, and they told me pets are fine. ReserveAmerica has it wrong.

From what I have read, don't go camping at a Connecticut state park with your pets.

I don't know if it is still the case, but when we lived in PA, dogs were not allowed in state park campgrounds there.

Good to know about Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Seems to be an odd rule, though, considering 65% of RVers travel with pets. (RVIA survey)

You're right. I can recall that when we were in Pennsylvania, it seemed odd that in the state parks, we could have a dog on the trails, but not in the campgrounds. At the same time, in the national parks, we could have a dog in the campgrounds, but not on the trails.

It doesn't make a lot of sense.

PA state parks have changed. We're RV-ing in them at least once a year &, believe me, there are dogs.

Quabache SP has a herd of buffalo. My dog set them into stampede mode... the ground shook, onlookers crouched in the fetal position, the dog was never happier then at that moment!

We have been there with our dogs several times, the last 3 weeks ago. Dogs are allowed on a leash. We have a camping pet fence & never had any issues letting dogs loose in the fence. You do have to be out with dogs.
