KOA South is just ok. If it's not booked. I'd recommend Grandmas just a tic south.

Be advised, you'll need to park at either UofL Papa John's Stadium or Churchill downs and take a shuttle to Valhalla. There is no available parking at Valhalla. If you want to be REALLY close, you might want to check out the camping facilities at the Kentucky Fair and Expo Center.

TopDown... There are designated parking on Taylorville Rd..looks like Red and Blue lots are the assigned nomenclature and Miller Transportation is handling the hauling from the lots to the event.
I made my way thru all the excitement of back to school traffic on my way to Bullitt Stone and was looking for your rig. I am gathering that you live in one of the off Bell's Mill communities?

Sort of. I live off the John Harper behind the People's Bank in the patio home community. I store the rig down at Albrights on Preston just past Bells Mill.

Topdown...nice area back there. Easy access to I65 and the proximity to decent shopping makes it ideal. I used to live close by to you and still own a home off Mud Lane in the Brookley Rd area... that was my stomping ground.

I am off the Routt Rd area now and am caught up in the golfing traffic and Bullit Cty back to school traffic. It is amazing how long a line of cars can occur at 7am as people head to get ideal parking for the PGA. 90% duffers and dufferettes.....all decked out in their attire for today's event. Amazing how much they are willing to spend to get onto that course for a glimpse of their favorite athlete. And here I am staring at them as they wait in line to pass the signal lights on their way to the lots.

Topdown: I have come to like the Mayor and the staff... Terry Bohannon and her husband are employed as the Parks and Rec person and the Public Works person...they are great people. They do a ton for that community ...like the Thursday Bluegrass event at the Meeting hall in the old church. even though it is not a wealthy community...it is larger than one can imagine because the people are so great.
