Phoenix to Sequoia to Yosemite Early August

Hoping to tap into the vast amount of knowledge that resides on the forum.

My family and I (wife, 16 y/o son, 13 y/o daughter, 11 y/o daughter, 8 y/o daughter, and 6 y/o son) are taking a 2004 42' Monaco Dynasty and TOAD (24' H&H Aluminum Car Hauler with our 8500# Ford Excursion on it). We are planning on leaving sometime either Thursday, August 3rd or Friday, August 4th. I have off work until August 13th. That gives us approximate 10 days to make the round trip.

Trying to decide on the best routes: Las Vegas vs. Bakersfield.

I have not booked any reservations at RV parks yet. I think we are too big to stay at the parks, but since we have a TOAD we should be okay.

We did Yellowstone last year in September with the same setup and it was AMAZING! My kids still talk about it till this day.

Anyway, hope to get some pointers, cautions, direction, etc.

Offtosleep,
We stayed in Coarsegold, ca. at the Escapees park and drove our toad the 30 or so mi. To and from Yosemite, Sequoia, and Kings canyon daily. There is an interesting Indian casino across the road from the escapees park with free overnight parking. Chukchansi. There is also another Indian casino about 40 miles south of coarsegold on a side road off of hw. 41 with free overnight parking. Table mountain. Both of these casinos have excellent restaurants.
Hy 41 from Fresno junction to yosemite is mostly good 2 lane road.
There are many Rv parks in the Coarsegold and Oakhurst areas.
Hopefully the fires will be out before your trip.

Offtosleep,

Keep it between the lines!

Plz update your signature on your profile page with info about your Rv, etc.
It will look something like my SIG below.

There is no reason to get anywhere near Las Vegas. I would suggest west on I-10 to AZ95 or US95 north to I-40, then west to Barstow, West on CA58 to Bakersfield, and north on CA99 to Sequoia to Yosemite.

Yosemite

So any recommendations on a place to stay with our 42' Monaco with TOAD? We'll be coming in from Fresno. Likely Oakhurst area.

The Escapees Park Sierra is a very nice cg.
You can join the Escapees club at the cg.
