Capitol Reef NP trip, Torrey, UT this past April 2015. Freak snowstorm the first day of the trip.

These two were taken in Salmon, ID at a quaint little campground in July 2015 on our way towards Glacier NP. We had deer wandering right through camp all 3 days we were there and they didn't seem to be bothered one bit by us.

Sorry, I had little to no cellular data service when I tried to post this. This was site #18. It is a very large site with lots of space on both sides.

Gouldings Lodge, Monument Valley. We stayed there this Spring. There were no full hook-ups available so we parked across the street in an overflow parking lot. I liked it better than the campground. Dry camping was great and had no neighbors.

I can assure you that you had a better deal, assuming you did not need hookups. When I was at Gouldings, we were invaded by the "Cruise America" aliens and it was a zoo. There is another really cool dry camping place to stay, a few miles up the road and past Mexican Hat, at Goosenecks State Park. You can litterally camp on the edge of the canyon. If nothing else, it is worth a visit.
