Pigeon Forge TN campsite for kids

We are planning a trip to Pigeon Forge for next month, and could use some suggestions for a good campsite for kids. We have a 35' class A and need the 50 amp service. Our kids are 3, 6 and 8, so a pool and playground are a necessity, fishing is a huge bonus.

We would prefer a campground that doesn't have a lot of "permanent" residents, and something with a trolley stop would be ideal to get to Dollywood and the attractions without having to rent a car.

I noticed there was a Jellystone campground (we love Jellystone) out near Gatlinburg, but we would have to rent a car and make the drive each day.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This is right on the Little Pigeon River and at the south end of town the trolley services the area.

Consider River Plantation. Go to River Plantaton RV Resort - The Gateway to the Smoky Mountains
Give them a call to see about trolley service.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

I called River Plantation but they are not on the trolley stop. The girl said you had to walk about .5 to 1 miles to get to the closest trolley stop. No big deal for the wife and me, but no good for the kids.

I guess it will be riverside, unless we find something better.

As long as a pool is available my kiddos are pretty happy. We may stay at creekside Rv resort. They have PA and the price is quite nice as well.
