Also after time in Asheville looking to do a loop from Asheville south catch Blue Ridge parkway north avoiding the low clearance tunnels beyond mile post 458. Is it real windy and narrow or lanes reasonable?
Thanks in advance. Btw wife trusts you guys more than my route planning. Lol

good, you know about the low tunnels. the road is windy but it's a good 2-lane road with no commercial trucks allowed. speed limit is 35 or 40. we traveled the entire length of the parkway in our 35' class A towing a jeep. no issues. btw, the BRP transitions into Skyline Drive at the northern end of the parkway. Skyline Drive is the same type of road as it winds thru the Shenandoah National Park.
we also crossed thru the Smoky's to Cherokee from Sevierville, TN but we either picked up US 19 at Cherokee and took that to the parkway or we followed US 441 south to US 74 and then US 23 at Sylva to the Balsam Gap interchange with the parkway. we've done the parkway a couple of times but it's been a few years and I just don't recall which one we used but either should get you past MP458. just fyi for you. US19 east from Cherokee will also take you thru Maggie Valley which, I'm told, is beautiful to see and 19 will take you to Asheville.
enjoy the ride!
