Have reservations for 1/06 @ this campground. Has anyone stayed there? Would you stay again?

It's expensive, but seems as tho most Fl. campgrounds are booked well in advance for winter months. This happened to be avail. with relatively short notice.

Pine Island is surrounded by flats (shallow water) and is fishing oriented. You will find the Island a bit more laid back that a lot of the SW Fl Coast Area. We live about an hour drive from the area and to there to eat seafood sometimes. We have not checked out the campground but it will probably reflect that lifestyle. We would enjoy it.

I drove over there to pine Island to look this KOA over. The other poster is right, it is primarily a fishing campground. That does not mean it is bad at all. It is laid back as is the whole island. If you are primarily interested in the warm weather and do not have kids, it will do a good job for you.
