Where at in WA?

We like Silver Cove RV Resort on the way to Mt. St Helens from I-5 at Castle Rock.

Where at in Washington would help, how far do you want to travel, do you prefer state or national parks or private. With some basic informaton I can suggest many places to go. If you are looking at state parks you may not find anything for weekends this summer. They book fast and early, starting in January. If you like state parks go to the web site and pull up the map and it will list by regions of the state. If you want private go to Good Sam's web site and they have a great list. JMHO

Anywhere in Western WA is the plan..........in the past we have primarily done CG, but mostly because they have been longer stays. We are adventures though and so willing to go to Parks or Private. WE love to explore the areas we are in. State Parks appear to be full already, not surprising though.

Our adventures this summer may have to be only 3 days long though.........because of DH job. So somewhat close to the Puyallup/Tacoma area is great!

We do plan a trip to Gray Harbor and Queets this summer.

If you want to risk a bit further afield, there's Deception Pass SP, Bayview SP and a private CG called Pioneer Trails all in the Anacortes/Burlington area. There's also a city park (Washington Park) out at the west end of Anacortes, near the Ferry Terminal.

Highly recommended is Salt Creek Campground near Port Angeles.
Salt Creek Recreation Area
It is right on the edge of the Straights of Juan de Fuca and looks across the water to Victoria. Beautiful views. The park is actually an old military base so there is an old gun placement and bunkers still there. Very cool.

Great park and location except for....cell service! You will attach to the cell tower across the water in Canada...and you will pay dearly for that service! DAMHIKT!! Just Beware! Otherwise a great spot!

just to add to FrankDamp post another good Anacortes area campground is Fidalgo Bay Resort/Park. On or near the water with views and a bicycle/pedestrian path into town.
Washington Park (City) is a little tight for larger rigs.

How about pacific beach state park! Quite possibly the best ocean camping you will find in the state of washington. Rv sites are right on the beach, about half have elect./water and you can have a campfire on the beach! Nothing like hearing the ocean roar all night. Also not too far away from ocean shores for souvenirs. Check out their web site, they have some pics.

Is that for Military members or open to anyone? Just wondering because we heard that there is one in Pacific that is for Military members etc.
