Place to winter and meet other full timers
We have been full timing for a year but have met no other full timers. We would like to spend some time this next winter (2017/18) in Southern Arizona. We are looking for a park that attracts other full timers and overall a crowd of younger, active retirees. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Glad to have you here in the forum with us.
You might want to look at the full timers forum above. You should find mostly full timers there and see where they all go.
Happy Trails!!!

Are you a member of the Escapees RV Club? Their own parks are full of full-timers. Here's a great park for the winter in Arizona and $50 for your first week. Try to come in by November for a choice spot. It stays fairly full Dec - March. There are other Escapees parks, too, depending where you want to be.
Special Offers - SKP Saguaro Co-op

It's not Arizona but there are quite a few that stay at Llano Grande in Mercedes TX all winter. Not as dusty as Arizona and less expensive in general. Great Park and people.

Might check The Palms RV in Yuma. They had a BOGO deal not long ago. Buy one month get one free for first timers.

Cal-Am has several parks throughout Southern AZ. We stayed at Fortuna De Oro in Yuma for a week and thought the park was excellent. Great pool/spa/restaurant complex and the best sports complex we have seen in over 2 years on the road.
Also Yuma provides great access to Mexico via Los Algodones. But there are probably a hundred or more places to winter in the SW...

Maybe volunteer somewhere? The folks we have met doing it are pretty active, not sure what younger is, we are 50 and are almost always the youngest full timers............But when we did it at a ntl park that has a lot of volunteers they also have a pretty large seasonal staff of seasonal park rangers and interns who are under age 30.
We liked we could meet full timers who have been doing it a long time (we learn something from a lot of them everyday) and we could make friends with some of the younger seasonal rangers and get our party on. It is funny, one night we can sit at a campfire with the other full timers and be the youngest ( by a lot) and the next go hang out (drink/party/be 20something again) with the seasonals and interns and be the oldest folks in the room.
Bigger parks=more staff=more people to meet. https://www.volunteer.gov/

The big RV rally in the desert late January is a blast for sure (though weather sucked big time this year) but would not like sitting in Quartzsite for two months. Nothing much to do IMO. Yuma, Tucson, Phoenix area or ever Palm Springs would be more enjoyable I would think.
But the choices are indeed limitless!

I would like to spend time in Quartzsite Arizona.
I driven a semi for the past 45 years.
I have seen Quartzsite in summer and winter.
Big difference, just guessing 200 people in summer, 3000 people in winter.

There's a lot more than just 3000 people in the winter time in Quartzsite. Add a zero and your still too low.
