Planning a trip. To Yosemite

We are planning a trip in April to Yosemite. Looking at a couple of campgrounds outside of the park. I have a 42ft motorhome. I like Yosemite Ridge, it seems to be the closest plus we can kayak. Has anyone stayed here? Any other suggestions?

We stayed at Yosemite Ridge last May. Nice managers. Most spots too small for 42 footer (as we were, but they have one spot in the back corner that was perfect and had good satellite reception. Sorry I don't remember the number.

Note that they had a lot of fire there last summer, and it has affected a lot of the scenery in the park. A lot of the scenery on the way to the park succumb to fire several years ago. That said, the park is magnificent. Recognize the road in is steep and you need a good jake brake coming out for the descent out of the area. cell phone reception next to nil at Yosemite Ridge and elsewhere except in the town several miles before you get to the campground. Don't plan on WiFi much while you're there with your hot spots.

Thanks DSL, I talked to Joe at the campground and he has reserved spot #9 for me, says it is the largest onto in the park. Thanks for the info on the jake brake,, mine works great. Can't wait to go there. As for wifi, not too worried since I am on vacation.
