DW and I are in the planning stage of our first MH trip to the Grand Canyon area from our home in N. Florida. We are going in mid July. I am looking for camp location suggestions from the "pros" on this forum. We prefer full hookups but don't really care for the fancy resorts. Any help would be appreciated

The only reservations we made months ahead of time was for at Trailer Village at the south rim, site#76 back row, wildlife all around every day!
Try and reserve a site in the last row out back......you will love it.

We stayed in Williams AZ. at the Grand Canyon railroad park. We took the train from Williams to the canyon. We loved the RV park and the train ride.

+1 on the North Rim, which makes for easier access to Bryce and Zion as well.

For Kaibab Camper Village... Only 51 sites but a really nice place.

If you go to the South Rim go to the Grand Canyon Trailer Village and make reservations now. We made ours 9 months in advance. About 1/2 mile from rim and the shuttle to the rim stopped at the campground. Loved the days we were there.

The North Rim is off the beaten path, quiet and secluded. From Kaibab Camper Village it is only a 40 mile drive along the beautiful North Rim Parkway (State Route 67) to the Canyon rim.
The south rim has a bus service that runs all over the park, picks you up at the campground and brings you back.....Full service grocery store and more.
As posted, the North rim is a lot quite and not as touristy, but everyday you want to go to the rim......80 miles round trip. I was just amazed at the animals at our site, big 6x6 elk eating right in our front yard.......All the roads and sites were redone and upgraded in 2013, new pavement on all the roads and sites. Grand Canyon Lodging, Hotel, Vacation, Camping, Lodge, Tours
We used the south rim (Trailer Village)and stayed for 7 days to see the south rim, A bicycle path right out of the campground for riding out to desert view, hours of riding, wonderful experience on the bikes!, and went south to explore Sedona and towns south(89a to Sedona is breathtaking to drive) and then we relocated the Coach to Page, AZ Wahweap Marina RV Park & Campground - Lakepowell.com to do everything north of the Grand Canyon(in the jeep) including the North rim, Zion, Bryce. This campground on Lake Powell was for sure the "highlight" of our trip, end site, awning side facing the lake, sun rise every morning was spectacular! Boat rental for a day was the best money we spent on our trip! 8 hours on the lake in the sun.......
Then relocated the Coach to Moab, UT.......

North Rim is wonderful. We spent 2 days there this past August in the park campground. No hook ups but did not need a/c at the elevation. Have dump station available. Right on the rim - love it. Not commercialized like the south rim

Avoid the KOA in Williams. Dusty dirty mess.

North Rim is higher in altitude. Much cooler.
North rim provides a different perspective, as the angle of the sun from the South give more blue spectrum light vs the red spectrum of the South Rim.
Both are worth a visit.
