This area is very popular as a winter destination for "Winter Texans" so it may be very hard to get reservations this late in the year.

It has been a few years since we have spent any time ther and do not know what is available and the cost. Someone will be along later that can answer this issue.

Mustang Island SP is a great spot...very convenient and quiet however asphalt back-ins are a bit close together and there are limited sites...All have hydro and water and there is a dump station. We enjoyed it last March and met several nice folks. We also looked at a fairly large commercial CG down along the ocean side of town...it was out in the sand and looked very nice. I believe it had all hookups but could be a bit dicey I suspect in bad weather. The general area is great to visit...I especially loved the Lex tour and the aquarium in Corpus Christie.
I am sure there are others. There is also one at least at the N end of S Padre Island but it was a bit pricey for us and also too "touristy" for my tastes..

Some friends of our spent the month of February this year there.

They loved it and said it was a "Drinking Island with a Fishing Problem."

They plan on going back this winter.
