Port Charlotte

Going to be in Port Charlotte for 2 weeks around the first of March. What are some neat places to visit? We plan to visit the Ford and Edison winter estates. Just wondering what other things are must sees. Any good seafood restaurants with a great ocean view. We're staying at Myakka RV Resort. Looks like a nice park.

Snook Haven is a cool little bar/restaurant on the Myakka River. Check out their website for a listing of music acts playing while you are there.

We live right across the Myakka River from the camp ground. It is a very nice, beautiful park and expensive. there is no shortage of good places to eat. Be sure to ride out to Boca Grand and tour the light house right on the beach at the pass. On your way you might want to stop at the FISHERY for lunch. Old South cooking. Rite on McCall road (also know as 776) there are lots of places. Nicilos, Mamas, maybe 50 places on way to Venice, FL.
Going South to Punta Gorda (the only city in charlotte county) many more places. charlotte County is one of the oldest communities in FLorida. Many seniors and lots of snowbirds. In Punta Gorda don't miss Fishermans Village. The beaches in boca or Englewood are very nice. Roughly 30 miles south will have you in Fort Myers. there are 1/2 dozen RV dealers and is becoming almost a capital of RV Dealers. If you have bikes there are lots of places to ride. Safe Travels... ed
