Portland, OR to Yellowstone

We're driving our 40 motor home towing our Jeep Wrangler heading for Yellowstone NP from Portland, OR. We have never driven this part of the country before or ever visited Yellowstone in our 37 years of RVing.
We're looking for route suggestions as well as campground suggestions. We are members of Thousand Trails, C2C, Western Horizon, RPI, ROD Passport and more. What's the easiest route for a big rig? What's the best entrance to YNP? We expect to arrive in YNP area by mid to late July.

I would take I/84 to Ambassador RV Park in Caldwell, ID, then back on I/84 to US 20 in Mountain Home, ID or to US 26 (for a flatter drive) in Bliss, ID. Then back on US 20 in Cary, ID. Stay on US 20 into West Yellowstone. US 20 goes onto I/15 for a mile or two, but just follow US 20.
Get reservations NOW for Yellowstone!
