Portland to Tillamook/Bay City

I will be on a July trip from AZ to Oregon coast and would like recommendations for route from Portland to Tillamook/Bay City. Specifically how is state route 6, or would I be better sticking to US 26 and enjoying the coast down. 33 ft MH with crv toad.

Would also like recommendations for stops to Cal. border. Have friends to visit in Bay City and Florence so anything around there?

We took the 8 to the 47 to the 6. Two lanes, nice road, beautiful scenery. Don't miss the Saki Distillery, they have a wonderful tour. There is a buffalo ranch, and lots of lovely country. We returned on the 6 to the 26, which becomes just another freeway drive.

Thank you for the suggestion, have already put it on the route. So much better to stay off freeways and see beautiful country.

I would take 26 to the coast and then south.
No question

We took route 6 last year with no problems. 42 MH towing a Jeep Commander.

I like the 30 to 101 to astoria and ft stevens that area is great. Then south to tillamook. The 26 is good road if you dont want to see the mouth of the columbia river
