Hi Bob, you might try posting this in the Canadian region forum further down it should get some good results. We have several members who live in that area and others who are knowledgable about that area. Good luck

We stayed here http://www.isn.net/mrp/ a couple of years ago (before the diesel price went ballistic) and found the owners very friendly and civic minded. Our daughter and son-in-law stayed in a tent last year and liked it too. Full hookups and quiet with a water view and a small pub for good measure. We used it as a base for several day trips around the Island. Took the bridge over and the ferry back as we were heading to Halifax as well so got the best of both worlds!

There is a Passport America camp that is pretty central on PEI and it is about $13 a night. It is in Harrington on route 15 and called the Harrington RV Park. It is not not fancy at all, but has full hook ups and the price is right if you have Passport America. The New Glasgow Lobster Supper is fantastic. We took alot of scenic drives to find lighthouses - it was great. Groceries are expensive, so stock up before you go.

Several years ago we stayed at a Passport America campground at Summerside. We were right on the sound facing the bridge. You may want to stay on the other side of the island as most of the tourist activities are there.
