If they don't play AC/DC, CCR, Skynyrd, Hendrix, Allman, and some good ole Ozzy then it's not for me. It OK to throw in some of the masters like Bach, Brahms but has to be cranked up...

And I want to know what happens to people, what life changing event causes people to think Bingo is the thing to do!

We live in Sun City. We are 65. We have many friends our age here. And those are the folks we hang out with. We are changing what the activities here are and who they are catering to. The things we are interested in, we support, those we don't, we don't. We start new clubs with our interests in mind. We don't do bingo, we bike, hike, golf, tennis, swim, dance, pickleball, party. It takes time for those transitions to happen, but they do. I can't imagine RV parks being any different.

This is an interesting post and I never really thought about it that way. Probably because we are weekend campers mostly due to still working. Usually we go with friends and take our motorcycles and bikes along. We make our own fun. But if we were parked in one place for a longer time...I'd be looking for exactly the same thing.

We do go to Branson a lot because it's close and we love Table Rock Lake. We don't do the shows as that's not us. We thought about retiring down there but my wife doesn't want to hang around with "all those old people!" There is a great tattoo shop there. That's more to our liking.

When you identify this magical 70's wonderland be sure to share so we all know where to hang.

There's obviously a niche out there for a CG/resort that caters to the late-era baby boomers & the early-era Gen-X people, most born between 1957 & 1967. Those are the ones wanting the 70's music with a bit of 60's music (Beatles & post) thrown in with more activities than std bingo & cards. Whomever comes up with that will have a built-in guaranteed clientele for decades to come.

I'd suggest putting it in Colorado........

And my wife makes great homemade Pizza so I think that could be a work camping gig for us!

Yep that's exactly what I told my DW. She was not impressed. So we bought a trailer instead and go multiple places.

Sometimes we're the youngest in the campground. Sometimes not. Either are better than working!

I am from the era you describe, but I have never liked music "cranked up" and I have never understood why people want to invite hearing damage. I like keeping my hearing intact and retaining the ability to actually hear things at normal volume. I even like to be able to hold conversation with other people, something impossible to do with extremely loud music in the background.

At a New Year's party we attended, the music was "cranked up" so loud it was actually painful. After we left and I was walking the dog, I could still hear the music blaring over 1/4 mile away. Seemed a bit rude to those rv-ers who were on lots near the clubhouse.

Well Patty- I'm an old-school rock 'n roller and I love my music cranked up. That's why I have always had high-end stereo systems. That being said, I wouldn't even think about cranking up the music while camping. If it can be heard at the edge of our campsite, it's too loud.
