Providence RI area

We are going to be in Provincetown RI in late June, my wife is taking aaathree day class there. We're planning to make a camping trip out of it swinging up to Rangely Maine for a few days on the way back.
I'm looking for places to stay around Provincetown. I was thinking about the Cake Cod area but any suggestions would be welcome.
Well be coming from Illinois and going through the states on the way there and coming back through Canada. If you know of any can't miss places on that loop we'd be interested too.

Provincetown is in Massachusetts, at the tip of "Cape" Cod. Or... did you mean "Providence", RI?

The Cape would be a long commute to Providence; it takes us 1 1/2 hours. I'd look closer to Providence.

Scusset Beach State Reservation, Sagamore, MA, is a very nice CG. It's located just off the Cape on the Cape Cod Canal. It's fairly close to Plymouth (rock).

Normandy Farms is an outstanding CG. One of the more highly recommended ones but difficult to book a site unless you are a CCA member ( Credit Card Association). We have stayed there for the past three year and love it! If you can get in, give it a shot. I have never been to Scusset Beach CH but I hear it is very nice and it might suit your needs as to the proximity of PTown ( that is what we refer it to around here )

Rangeley Me, watch out for the Moose !!

They can make a mess of the front cap...

Where are you staying in Rangeley? Making plans to stay at the Cupsuptic Campground again next summer. Saw Josh Turner this past July, next summer is Foreigner. What a venue, sunset overlooking the lake and mountains.

LOL. The only way Scusset is close to Ptown is straight across the water! It's about a 60-65 mile drive that takes well over an hour. ;-)

OK, we have a location problem. Ptown refers to Provincetown, MA. OP's original post did say Provincetown, RI. The OP clarified that want to be near Providence, RI. Scusset Beach is a long way from either one.

The hour drive could work as my wife will be in classes for four days. Making the drive twice do of and pick up wouldn't be too bad.

"Where are you staying in Rangeley?"

If like to get into the Rangely Lake State Park. They don't start taking 2016 reservations until February.

There are several with good revues turning up on Google. Traffic around there can get rough during rush hours. I would try for close and on the right side of the city for where she will need to go.
