We will be traveling out to Punderson SP OH. the last week of July to meet freinds from both Chicago and Syracuse for some needed RR. We will be traveling the greatest distance from central New jersey so we are planning and over night along Rt. 80 and are looking for some help on a CG with easy off and on and pull thrus. The other couples will be tenting we will be in MH , the state website doesn't give much info on the camp sites , they sounds like most are paved are there also grass sites for the tents?. If you been there and done that we would love to here from YA ALL.

Been a could of years since we were there, but as I recall there is space to the side of the paved area for a tent. The paved areas are not that large as they were put in when TT's were not big and there were no slides. Eclectic only at each site.

Hello, Punderson is geared towards tents to a degree. When I say that I mean there are many sites that are marked for "tents only". In my opinion Punderson is kind of in need of updating. Their electric service is only 20 amps. On my list of sites good for MH's I have 15 & 16 ( sunny and level ), 17 & 18 ( shady and level) 18 would be good because 19 & 21 are tent only sites. 61 or 63 (shady and level). 143 shady, 193 or 195 mostly level and sunny (across the street are some "tent only" sites. About a 3rd of the sites at Punderson are " tent only" sites. Tenters can reserve any site, but people with RV's can't use the tent only sites. There are some tent hill sites where the you would place your tent up on a hill. But it is a steep walk up the hill. They are site #'s 54,56,58,60,64,75,77,79,118,124,126,128 & 130. Pundeson as all the other Ohio state parks have some non-reserveable sites. If you are arriving midweek that would be fine to get one of those, but if your arriving on Thur , Fri or sat. you will want a reservation. In the non-reservable area sites 171 and 181 are good. Here is a website on a volunteer site "friends of Punderson" that shows pictures of every site Punderson site pictures. It will be very helpfull for you.

Other State Parks in the Northeast Ohio area I would check out would be Findley and West Branch. Findley has a bunch of electric sites available for the end of July. West Branch is kind of full all summer. I like Findley, it is located about 40 miles SW of Cleveland.
