Quartzite

We're planning on going this year and we will get there a day or two before the rv show. Does anyone have a suggestion where to boondock since we will be coming in late. We will also be taking our RZR to ride trails. Just planning staying a week orso. We have been there once in mid February and the area is mostly deserted. I just don't want to drive and drive and drive looking for a spot. Thanks.

Pick a vacant spot, lots of RV's as well as lots of room. Just be sure you have the right permits if needed.

We like to stay at Scadden Wash. It's a 14-day area and no permits are required. Just drive in and pick your spot. If you take the south frontage road you'll see the parking places and you can continue to drive until the end of paved frontage road- a mile or so, turn right on the good gravel road and there are more sites.

If staying less than 14 days no permit is required as I recall. Pick an area and check in with Camp Host, they will tell you what you need. For longer stay buy a LTVA pass for $180 good for like 7 months...

we have stayed at HI Jolly and a permit was needed there for 14 days or less. Free and the camphost issued it to us.

LaPosa south LTVA is $40.00 for a 14 day permit and that entitles you to fresh water, dump facilities and garbage dumpsters. We stay in this area rather than going to town to dump and get water. All those services are available in town at places like The Pit Stop for a fee if you choose to stay in a free area.

I'm thinking I'll make it back this year too(hopefully, if all goes well)....last couple of times there we stayed with the group from another Forum(RV Forum Community) and had a ball. We have also stayed outside of town at an affiliated Thousand Trail's park but that commute got to be a bit much. See ya there...have Fun!!! :-)

Sounds good. How long is the Big Tent area run for, weeks, months, etc.?
We've never been there, all new for us. I think we will be there at the very end of this month, January. Thank you.
