we are going to boondock for about 6 weeks at Quartzsite, from mid December to February. Any info or advise we could get would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a GOOD piece of advice.
If you have dogs, watch carefully where they walk... those jumping cholo's are viscous, and I mean VISCOUS. So be careful where you and your 4 legged friends walk.

The view of the sky at night is amazing.

I'd much prefer to go to Las Cienegas NCA

Here's some photos for ya...

This plant looks like maybe at first glance, just a cactus... but it drops these burrs that look just like the rocks, and then those blow around.... each with a serious barb on the end making removal a very painful process.

If your dog hits a load of these, the first they do is try to remove it with their mouth.... guess what happens next.

This is proof enough to me why no one lives there.

In Las Ciengas, there are none of these and it's no where near as rocky and much more private. Just food for thought.

Plasma800...while your info was interesting...The OP asked about apples and you sold him oranges? Your posts are usually much more on point and helpful. Are you having trouble focusing today?

OP: Since you plan on six weeks you might want to consider the LTVA BLM land. There are also free 14-day areas if you want to move around. Here's some info:

Camping in and around Quartzsite
