We always boondock off of Polmosa Road in the BLM 14 day free areas north or south of the road.
(Polmosa Road is 6 miles north of Q and runs to the east off of AZ Highway 95).
The booths, shops and restaurants are spread along for miles east and west of highway 95, along the 2 city streets/roads on both sides of I-10.
Although we drive our coach through Q on highway 95...we always drive our toad into town for shopping, eating and getting from place to place in Q itself.

the Q in feb

So the big shows are over at the end of January. Some tent shops and more or less permanent businesses will be open.
There's a a good number of people who continue to camp in that area but largely most have moved on to other places to go, things to do, and so by comparison of Jan most have gone.

That leaves almost every where you want to stay available!! The weather from my experience is still mild and so there should be no reason that you can't enjoy yourself. I found my off air TV antenna worked well there so you can get the news if you aren't on a sat system.

Wish I could be there too -- maybe next year.
