Is this possible? I have never been to Quartzsite and will not have a toad. I want to park in the free section just for a couple of nights or so during the big Rv show. Would it be walking distance to the rv show? maybe bike distance?

It's been several years since we were there but you will probably have a long walk, You may not be able to find a big enough parking place unless you go real early. As I remember the free places aren't real close.

Quartzsite has 2 free areas Both are at the end of town one on the north and one on the south quite aways from town riding a bike would be a good ride about 5 or 6 miles + or -

I Googled cab service and came up with this:

Paul's Taxi 928-927-8294.

Beats walking.

Park near a group of owners of the same coach as you, most will be happy to give you a ride, or you can pay to park at one of the in town sites for a couple of days. This will be my first year with a toad and I have never missed getting there. You can also park your RV in the retention basin behind the Gambler. But NOT if it is raining. Go here to see what happens when it rains. http://desertmessenger.blogspot.com/...uartzsite.html

If you don't mind walking many miles then you will probably be ok, otherwise you might consider renting a car. The closest place would be Blythe.

I think if you pay the $40 and park with the Monaco group we can find you a ride in and maybe a free beer and good company. Look in the Monaco section for Quartzsite.

When you say free area, not sure, but if you go to LaPosa South on right side a few miles out of town you can do it.

You pay a fee and go far up to northwest and park. Then its just a short distance through a gully to the show.

I do this when we are camped in La Posa South. I just drive my car up to this area and park with lots of other doing the same short walk.

Go West of town on I-80, get off at exit 11 (Dome Rock Road) to the south side of the exit. Work your way towards town and you can get within a couple of miles of the big show area. Yes, its BLM.

BLM = free ? im a newbie to Quartzsite..........dont have solar panels or elephant size batteries....... but im good for a couple of nights with the genny......... I want to experience that " everyone must go to Quartzsite" thing. I like the idea of simply pulling off the road and parking, no check in no check out. Kinda like Walmart. ooops dirty word.

I would not recommend bikes the highway is narrow and has alot of RV and truck traffic.
