We are planning on going there and boondocking at Pine Spring Campground. Has anyone been there? We will be in our 41' Newmar with Silverado in tow. Do I have to worry about roads in that area? Thanks in advance for any info..

We've stayed there with our 40' with no problem. The road going in is paved and an easy drive. However, the RV parking is on a paved parking lot. Tent camping is in the campground. It's a nice park to explore and can be done in a day or two. It can be an extremely windy area at this time of year so best to check the weather forecast beforehand. We climbed the peak - a tough one for us seniors but a gorgeous view. There are some nice shorter, easier trails to hike.

Lots of great hikes in the area! We have 10 acres at the intersection of the road going West to El Paso and South to Van Horne. We managed to pull off the highway and drive out on our place on the service road to the little building where the line runs. Feel free to spend time with the rabbit that lives there, because you will be the only others there!

Thanks for the info. Forecast is calling for windy conditions but we are going to give it a go. Should be there later today.

Hike up to the top of Guadalupe Peak, and you get to cross the highest bridge in Texas. It can be windy up there, but great view of the area.
