John and Elaine there is a Lazy J OFF 90 EXT-57 16-W and south of Rapid City, also KOA Hill City,SD OFF RT-16-385 SOUTH of Hill City RT-244 this CG is near MT Rushmore. Along RT-16 there are a number of CG's. We were in that area in 2000 hired a tour van for 7 people 8-10 hours cost about $380 toured Crazey Horse, Custer State Park, The Neddles, MT Rushmore during the day and the lighting at night and stopped for a meal before lighting at a lodge. Super guide we had she found bull buffalo on a road we were on and a rattler coiled up in the center of road got movies to prove it. We left at 1 pm and back at CG ABOUT 10:30.
If that is what your planning you can't go wrong with tour, the guide knows places you would never find. Camera's are a must. "007"
