Really Unique Campgrounds/RV Parks?

Hi. Thanks for opening this thread!
Does anyone know of any unique campgrounds/RV parks?
Something out of the ordinary? One of a kind?
Especially in the upper Midwest, but anywhere in the USofA is great.
We have a Big Rig if that makes a difference. Probably No caves...LOL

Check out Moab, tons of things to see and place to go. Some great riding too.
Happy Glamping.

I have stayed at many that have great vistas and others that were first rate operations but the one that remember as unique was Tom Sawyer RV Park in West Memphis, AR. It is on the flood plain of the Mississippi River where you have to go over the levy and then down to where you are almost level with the river. In fact when we where there the right side section of the campground was closed due to it was flooded and we had to go through an inch or so of water covering the road to get to the left side campsites. The place is quiet and the only thing you hear are the boats pushing the barges up and down the Mississippi. The place apparently gets flooded a lot as the electrical boxes for the row are mounted high on a poles while the individual hookups are ground level. They have plenty of pictures on their website Tom Sawyer's RV Park

Aune Osborn RV Park in Sault Ste Marue, MI. this is a municipal park with full hookups. what makes it special is location. it's situated on the St. Mary's River which connects Lakes Huron and Superior. the huge lake freighters gliding past the campground make an impressive sight especially at night. Reservations recommended.

Black Mesa state Park, near Kenton OK.....beautiful & remote, near the Sante Fe Trail. One site has a picnic table set in between 2 huge boulders

AND

Disney, Fort Wilderness, best of all campgrounds. No need to go to DisneyWorld, just do all the transportation for free, see all the rigs, visit Disney Springs. Fantastic adventure.

Then : Both Glacier Natl Parks, Lake Louise, Jasper, Moab. Any beachside park on the east coast. . Lots more in Nova Scotia, Prince Edward, on & on.

Just go to all you can go to

I came in here to give a shameless plug for Fort Wilderness. I must confess that I am a Disney fan though.

Glacier is on our bucket list. I really want to try to get there next spring. My wife says no more Disney until then. So, I really, really want to get to Glacier.....

Shameless too, here, actually, we will be at Fort Wilderness Halloween, Oct 31 & Nov1. If you've never been to Disney's Fort Wilderness for Halloween & Christmas decorations, you've missed a great adventure.

There are folks that store their decorations in facilities near Disney, and take 30 days to build their displays, they do it every year.

We found a unique KOA campground this summer https://koa.com/campgrounds/association-island/

Association Island KOA is on an island in the eastern end of Lake Ontario, south of where the St. Lawrence river begins. You reach it by driving over a narrow causeway at the end an equally narrow road marked "dead end". The middle sites are fairly normal, but if you can get a waterfront site, the view is great. BTW, my entry on the comment card was that they should really put a KOA sticker on the dead end sign...

Knoebels. It is an old amusement park with a cool campground right next to it. Great Halloween themed activities, especially fun for the kids. In fact, we are headed there today.

Mountain Views RV park and resort, Creede, CO. Unique combination of rv park and community.
RV park: Mountain Views at Rivers Edge RV Resort - Creede, CO - RV Park Reviews This is one of the few RV resorts with room to grow. New spaces along the Rio Grande are being developed with options for 600 sq ft casitas and should be ready next summer.
Creede: http://www.creede.com/
We were there less than two weeks and ended up leasing a space (40 years lease.) ATV and off road vehicle trails, hiking, fishing and biking. Local attractions: rodeos, balloon festival, music festival, quilt show, old car show, art shows, home tours, chocolate festival, live theater and so much more. They don't even start accepting RV reservations until Jan 1st.
