Recommendations for a month in/near Scottsdale AZ

My brother and his family live in Scottsdale AZ and we would like to spend the month of April at a good RV park nearby so we can spend as much time with them as possible. I have seen good reviews for Scottsdale RV Corral which is really close to their home as well as Covered Wagon RV park which is not far either. Do any members here have any recommendations for other places we could consider?

We are brand new at this so any and all input is welcome.

Thanks
Eddie

Scottsdale is not the most RV-friendly town in the Valley, there are others such as Mesa or Apache Junction right "next door" that have many places to stay.

You will be arriving at an opportune time since most winter visitors will be leaving then for fear of the oncoming Summer.

If you haven't heard of check out RV Park Reviews - Trusted Reviews of Campgrounds & RV Parks for more information.

Thanks. I have been utilizing campendium.com and RV Park Reviews both. Neither has it all. I will be working from "home" so cell coverage is a big deal for me, campedium tries to include this in user reviews, but they often do not have very broad coverage of an area in their reviews.

We stay at the Maricopa County Parks when in the area but I just looked at the two parks you mentioned on Google Maps - satellite view. Of the two Covered Wagon looks the best with good spacing between sites and trees - a rarity in the Phoenix area. However, it's right next to I-17 and on RVParkReviews it mentions road noise. Of course, in April you'll have your AC on as it will be hot.

Scottsdale RV (Trailer) Corral doesn't look good and has no recent reviews. Looks like it may be more permanent residents.

Look at Eagle View RV for 'out in the country' quietness. It's off 87 at Fountain Hills.

As long as you were considering Covered Wagon, look at Desert Sands and Desert Edge. Both are also near I-17 but not right next to it like Covered Wagon. Depending where your brother lives you could commute via 101.

Regardless where you stay the snowbirds will have left so you won't have a hard time getting a site.

We've stayed at Phoenix Metro RV park during the winter.. Older but well kept community.. Probably 50% full timers...

Its close to the I-17 / 101 loop interchange, so its probably 15 minutes from Scottsdale.

If you choose to stay closer to us as those Parks are just a mile down the road, we can't recommend Phoenix Metro RV Park but just next door is Desert's Edge RV- Purple Park (which is okay), but again we cannot recommend the other two on the other side of I-17, North Phoenix Campground or Desert Sands RV Park.

But as said, you are then just 15 miles/20 minutes west of north Scottsdale.

As another poster mentioned, Eagle View RV is really nice, not a lot of shade, but the pool is great, WiFi, and the free shuttle to the Casino across the road.

That puts you about 15 miles/20 minutes due east of Scottsdale.

We have stayed 3 0r 4 times at Desert Shadows 19203 N 29th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85027.
It's near 101 and I-17.

We stayed at Scottsdale RV Corral two years ago. It was just in the process then of converting from a mobile home park to an RV park. The park had good bones so if they completed their conversion well I would recommend it. Its location is terrific for Scottsdale. There is a free shuttle that stops just outside the park and will take you on a route through old town Scottsdale dropping you off and picking you up at several points in old town.

Was at Scottsdale RV last October. It requires a min of 1 month stay plus your electric. You need to fill out the application and RV info, then get approval long before you plan on being there. No longer full of perm but all long term folk. Park guests are very nice and you cannot beat the location! Not many amenities but the rv sites are spacious, great power and very quiet. Clear access to sky for sat. As someone posted it is VERY convenient and lots to do around there. Shuttles run regularly to and from old town.

Plus, at Scottsdale RV Corral, you are right across the street from the awesome Lo-Lo’s Chicken & Waffles! I love #1 K-K’s; three pieces of chicken, 2 waffles, 2 eggs with onions and cheese, and grits. Mmmmm. With a nice frosty beer or a sweet, sugary southern “drank”. Fried chicken heaven!
