Red Coconut RV Park Ft Myers Bch

Enjoying a stay at Red Coconut RV Park on Fort Myers Beach. Too bad we could not get a beach side space however we are only about 200 yds from the water. Kids are having a great time.

Picture of the sun setting tonight.

We were looking at staying there on our way to Key West in May. Some of the reviews aren't very good. Sites real close together, dirty. What is your experience so far? Thanks.

The family loves to go to the Red Coconut. We're set for Memorial Day weekend. We've only been on the beach once, I actually like being across the street, less beach gets tracked into the rig. Some site are close, but camping so close to the beach is not easy to come by.

We were just there last week. It is an older park with some really tight spots, but it is about as close as you can get to the beach without getting wet. Overall condition is good and staff is very helpful. They had a guy guide us to our spot to ensure nothing got crunched along the way.

One problem we had was extremely heavy traffic getting there. It was/is spring break and the traffic was crazy. At one point it took an hour to go 2 miles.

We have stayed at Red Coconut a few times. Yes, sites can be tight. When we rolled in this time Steve directed right into our space. Without his help we could have got it done however not as easy. Just follow his directions and you are in your site on the first shot. For those with a trailer you can un-hitch and they will put your trailer in the site with a tractor.

Nice part is easy beach access and a couple of good restaurants within walking distance. The little bakery to the north of the entrance offers great breakfast items.

Spring Break traffic along with general tourist season traffic is a pain ( I grew up in the area) however that is part of the deal. In May you will be fine.

Here is a picture from the beach with two of our kids (in black) playing with friends. As you can see you cannot get much closer to the water if you are lucky enough to get a beach side site than this.
