We are going to be in Reno on May12-13th and need
feedback on either Keystone or Chism's for a campground. They "appear" less parking lot like than the Hilton KOA. Also open to any other CG's I have not mentioned. Thanks]

We have stayed at Reno Hilton, Keystone (in Reno) and River's Edge (in Sparks, very close to Reno Hilton).

River's Edge is right on the Truckee River with a paved trail for hiking and biking. Clean restrooms and plenty of amentities. Local Casinos nearby, but you would have to drive to downtown Reno (6 miles) for the big name ones. Biggest drawback to River's Edge is that it is located right on the glide-path to the Reno Airport, so the scenery is ruined by the airplane noise.

Reno Hilton is a 'stand alone' Casino, meaning that there is not much else around it... you have to drive to see anything else. Near Truckee River. Parking lot camping, and the most expensive of the three.

Keystone is located downtown, parking lot camping, with all of the amenities. You can walk to the major casinos 3-5 blocks, and the Truckee River is about 9 blocks away (trail). A bit of freeway noise from I-80, depending on your site.

Never stayed at Chism's... older, smaller Rv park, mostly local permanent trailers, didn't appear (to us) to be that appealing(?)

Have fun...

We always liked Reno RV park but have not use it since moving up to a larger RV as it is rather tight.

If you stay within Reno proper, its gonna be noisy.

We prefer either Boomtown Casino, just west of Reno maybe 4-5 miles in Verdi, or go east to Fernly and the Desert Rose RV Park. Its about 30 miles out, but very quiet, instant phone hookups, most discount plans accepted, very quiet.
