Reno - Decent Pet-Friendly Park with 50 Amp
I did search, but couldn't find a good result.
We are going to Reno at the end of August.
Looking at RV Park Reviews, the parks in Reno are freakin' terrible.
Anyone have a recommendation for a decent place to stay? We have dogs, and will need 50amp, we have a 40' Motorhome.
My wife is doing a training, so for the most part, it'll be me and the dogs in the coach during the day. We don't need resort, just a nice decent place to hang out for a few nights.
Thanks!

We stayed a couple of days at Shamrock RV Park in 2014. Things may have changed since then, but we really enjoyed the park. I would stay there again.

We like Sparks Marina RV in Sparks. They have an off leash dog run and it's a clean park. If you're in to sports or hunting/fishing, there's a Scheels next door. Every piece of sporting equipment known to man.

That one looks nice and has good reviews. Less of the parking lot feel too.

Spent a week here over the 4th of July in 2015. Enjoyed the park, and close enough to everything to still see some places...
I believe it was one of the parks owners, or some connection to the park, has a beautiful (or was) Country Coach Magna. Up in one of the end spots on the rows closes to where you check in and by pool. Tires rotting away, had not moved in several years, and just a shame to see what was once such a grand higher end coach - rotting away... Be interested if you go, to hear if it is still in the park...
Be prepared for some hot days, we had temps over 105 for two of those seven days !
Not sure where you coming from, or going to when you leave. But we drove Hwy 50 towards the East cutting in to 15 in Utah. Its a neat drive...
Best, and travel safe,
Smitty

We used to live there so are pretty familiar with all the rv parks. When we return we stay at the Grand Sierra Hotel & RV resort. The Sparks Marina is nice but sites are pretty close together and is a big parking lot. The Shamrock is really tight for a rig over 30'. The Grand Sierra has easy access and is centrally located. You get access to all hotel amenities, pool, workout room, etc., although it's a walk over there. I think they have a shuttle that will come get you.
The only other one I would stay at is Gold Ranch in Verdi, at the outskirts of Reno. Boomtown KOA, Bordertown, Keystone, Victorian in Sparks and all others are ones we wouldn't stay at.
Just as an FYI, stay away from Labor Day weekend, that's the Rib Cook Off and all parks will be booked

On our way N & S WA to AZ we usually stay at Sparks Marina RV. Plenty of room and centrally located. Nice clean park.

Thanks all who replied!
We actually chose one of the ones recommended here, Gold Ranch in Verdi. It seems to have the best ratings and is less parking lot like than other choices.
I'll report back how it turned out when we get back in a couple of weeks.
Thanks a lot!
