I have just done a tour of a campground regestered in the "Resorts of Distinction" system. The campground is not what one would call a very upscale resort but the amenities are plenty (Clubhouse, Pool, Sandy Beach, Beautiful lake, Cottages,Bike paths, Campstore, golf course, etc) and the sites are nice. No paved sites, all are grassy. There is a substantial up fron fee and the membership is for 10 years. One of the benifits they mentioned is that if and when one travels around the country one can stay at any Resorts of Distinction campground and there will be no additional fees. There are other amenities and this particular campground is nice (Waldenwoods Resort- Hartland Michigan). I am wondering if there are any RV'ers out there that hav bought into the system and mite have opinions on pluses and minuses that they have encountered?

We were able to join ROD with our Thousand Trails memebership. Only have to pay $149 a year dues.
We've been to a few of their campgrounds. Really nice, with the exception of one. For us the $149 is worth it. But full membership, I don't think so.
