Smile RGV Camping

Want to try South Texas again in Jan and Feb 2015. Spent 2 months in Harlingen couple of years ago but would like recommendations for another 55+ park further west between Harlingen and Brownsville. Interested in parks with activities and reasonable space between sites. Have 33' motorhome, 1 wife and 2 dogs. Any experiences would be appreciated.

Try this one.

We stayed two winters and really enjoyed. LOTS of activities. Space depends on part of park you choose. Low, mid and hi rent districts in same park.

Dozens of choices. Victoria Palms is the fanciest, but also the strictest. Llano Grande is good. We stay āt Leisure World but mainly because my mom lives there. Magic Valley is nice. Most of the good ones are actually west of Harlingen, in Weslaco or Mercedes. The ones I have seen Eäst of Harlingen are right up against the highway and don't look that nice. If interested, send me private mail and i will do more reseāch. we'll be down there next we or so

RV resort parks in the RGV/ South Texas is not an all-inclusive listing,as some parks do not belong to the Rio Grande Valley chapter of the TVRA. We liked staying at Donna or Alamo RV parks because you are not in a big city, right between Harlengen and McAllen, and close to the BIG flea market.
