Hi Rockytop77,
It depends on what one is looking for. The CG is neat and clean. Sites are small. If you are looking for the entertainment and GSMNP the location is not that good. The location is in about 10+ miles to the entertainment area of Pigeon Forge. It is 15+ miles to the GSMNP. The route one must travel to the attractions and GSMNP comes with quite a bit of traffic.

There will be a huge car show in Pigeon Forge the weekend that we are there. We are not that interested in sitting in the middle of it! We have reserved a river site. Do you have any other recommendations? It's just going to be my wife and I for the weekend. Just going to relax and maybe shop a little. Hopefully very little!

Have you been to two rivers campground in Sevierville? We would like a campsite near a creek/river. With cable! We have to watch some football too.

Hi,
Two Rivers is new and clean. Class A only on the river side and towable RVs on the off river side. I think there are about 50 sites total. There is a pool and club house. It is very near the knife works (guy shopping). There are no trees. It is on the bank of the river, but one can not use the river shore.

Riverside is a nice park, we stayed there a few months ago. It is a bit of distance from the hustle and bustle, but to me the BIG plus is you get to this campground FIRST when you're headed into Sevierville. That means a lot of you're leaving on a Sunday when everyone else is leaving. You're at the head of the traffic pack.

It's a big park, WIFI worked well and there are a huge number of pull through sites. Gravel but nice and level.

We like River Plantation.
Be sure to locate the bypass that starts north of Severville and runs to the east side of Pigeon Forge.

If the point of your trip is to visit the national park, you'll want to get something in Gatlinburg, or one of the other park border towns (maybe even the other side of the mountains/park, say Maggie Valley or Cherokee), otherwise you're going to spend half your trip stuck in traffic. The IRV2 rally last year was at River Plantation and the opening weekend overlapped the car show.

Traffic is always bad between Sevierville and the park, but that particular event will bring it to a standstill.

Up the Creek RV Camp, Pigeon Forge RV, Reservation Request, Contact Form
I am planning a trip there and found this little place. Sounds nice and off the beaten path. Might be what you are looking for. Wi Fi and cable there as well.

Thanks for all of the ideas. River plantation is booked and I believe up the creek is as well. We got a river site at riverside park. I think we will be happy with it. We really don't care to get too far in to pigeon forge.
