I have not stayed there but I live not to far from Rocky Point Campgrounds. Driving by it is not much of a campground. Just dirt and a couple of ponds. The KOA in Wilmington is you're best bet in this area. It's about a 20 minute drive to Burgaw, up I-40.

There is really not much to see in Rocky Point or Burgaw. You will want to visit Wilmington and the beaches any way while you are in this area. JMHO

Thanks for the info . I will be visiting family in Burgaw and like to stay close . I normally stay at Holland shelter creek and heard Rocky Point was nicer and had a pool

We ended up staying here for a few days . Since we were visiting family this place was perfect . The owners were very friendly . The pool was a perfect relief from the July heat . My family lived right down the road about 5 minutes away which was perfect for us . Like Blacksmith9 pointed out , there's nothing close by .
We will stay here again when visiting our family .
