Hi from Tampa. Say, we only did a day trip from Colorado Springs down to the Gorge in May of 2010 and sure enjoyed the day. Can't tell you much about other local attractions but the Gorge was amazing. Hopefully others will respond.

Don't forget Pikes Peak and the Air Force Museum.

Parking lot is a little tight in Royal Gorge so try to get there early so you have plenty of room to park (if going in the motorhome as opposed to the toad). In addition to going across the bridge, make sure you take the 'ride' down to the bottom of the gorge.

In addition to Col Springs attractions listed above, you can also go to:
- Flying W ranch for a great cowboy dinner and show
- Olympic Training site

If you want to travel west from RG, go to the Great Sand Dunes. Bring sleds or trays as you can ride down the steep sections of the dunes.
