Hi Any suggestions on where to camp at/or near Disney World. We are contemplating taking the RV, 1 daughter,3 grandkids, and us-2 tired grandparents

Any good packages or just decent campgrounds would be helpful

We loved Fort Wilderness at Disney.
Will use again when we go back.

The are many campgrounds close to Disney, but there is only one that we would stay at FORT WILDERNESS!!!!! It's the best campground anywhere.

My vote is for Fort Wilderness also. Especially with kids. When mine were young we could take the Disney transportation from the parks back to the campground anytime they got tired, took naps and returned to the parks with happy and refreshed. Plus all of the entertainment they have at the campground really makes it worthwhile.

We stay at Lake Louisa State Park. The difference in price is dramatic and it is an easy drive to Disney. Lake Louisa has some full hook up sites and really nice bath houses. It is located near Clermont, FL.

Fort Wilderness. Think about what you get. Free parking, discount packages, free Disney transportation between all parks and attractions, early park admission. I suspect, that over a week's time you might break even on the price, over an outside park.
Disney is not cheap - enjoy the experience. At least for the time you plan to visit the Disney attractions.

All previous responses are assuming the purpose of your trip is to visit Disney World, and so am I. Stay at Ft Wilderness. Your stay will only enhance your Disney experience.

If Disney is not your destination there are a bazillion plus 2 RV parks in the area. Tell us what amenities you'd like and I suspect you'll get plenty of responses.

Only Fort Wilderness ! It's amazing ..... We will be there for 4 weeks mid jan. Through mid feb. Perfect time to go very low crowds, nice weather ..... Can't wait to go ! Good luck and hope you have a Magical Trip

How far away is that? I didn't see any campgrounds close to Disney World that were within easy driving distance.

We found that that cost of Ft Wilderness was worth it.

When you consider the cost of driving roundtrip from some other location and then paying the parking fees it seems to balance out.

We've booked our nights at FW in January. What sections do you repeat customers recommend?

I believe it's a deluxe sight that we've booked.

we like the 200 loop but that's because it's close to the pools .... But it's high traffic area though and far from transportation ..... But we take the golf cart with us ..... A must the camp ground is huge ! And the rental carts are costly

The location of the 100, 200 and 300 loops is nice, but they are not the most comfortable for a big rig.

For a big rig the premium sites are generally the best, but many, if not most of the deluxe sites are just as nice.

For the best information on sites at Ft Wilderness I suggest you visit Fort Fiends. They also have an excellent smart phone app, "sites at the fort" where you can bring up a description and photo of every site in the campground.

As for the golf carts, we preferred the pre-cart days. They clutter up the area down by the beach and settlement areas and many of their operators seem to ignore the rules of the road. The internal transportation is quite good and reliable and each loop has its own bus stop (we also preferred the trams of days past).
