Rv camping between Barstow and las Vegas

Good afternoon, we need to find a camping spot for a simple overnighter stay between Barstow and las Vegas. Does anyone have experience with that section of hwy 15? Wife is not comfortable with boon docking or staying at the roadside rest on that stretch of hwy. thanks.

The Calico KOA just east of Barstow is nice. After that nothing until Vegas.

Campdaven and dennis_k, thank you very much for your replies. I think you are right, we'll spend the night in Barstow.
