We will be in Spring, Tx in about 2 weeks. Looking for a campsite. Will be spending most of time with family at their home very near the Woodlands Mall. Looking for decent and safe place to park the rig during the day and sleep for 4 or 5 nights.
Also some concerned about staying north near Conroe due to construction near Hwy 242. Would appreciate your comments about the traffic and if it's of real concern. We understand there is major construction at I 45/ Hwy 242 intersection.

I was just going to post Rayford Crossing, but someone beat me to
It. I haven't stayed there, but reviews are excellent

Ditto. Stayed about a week a year ago visiting family in The Woodlands. Very nice. A good choice but was booked solid in late Sept last year - call now.

Rayford Crossing is very nice but a bit pricey. We've stayed there several times. You might also consider Corral RV Park in Tomball if Rayford is full. I spent 2 years at Corral when working in the Houston area.
If your looking for cheap then "Spring Creek park" in Tomball is the way to go "IT'S FREE". We've stayed there and its a nice, clean, safe county park. They also provide for free FHU sites. The only problem is when we stayed there last they lock the gates to the park at 10:00 pm so if you out visiting family it could be a problem. Also if you want to take advantage of it call ahead and make reservations.
Stayed here in July while visiting family in Spring, TX http://www.forestretreatrvpark.com
All concrete roads, parking, and patios.
Nice pool but could use some tables with umbrellas to escape the sun.
Cable TV and good wifi.
The construction is on 242 as it goes UNDER I-45. The freeway itself is fine until you get around FM 2920 & I-45. THEN the freeway is affected. It can be BAD at times. Do not plan to be on I-45 from 6AM-9AM & 4PM-7PM during weekdays.
There's Timber Ridge RV park in Magnolia. Since Woodlands Parkway goes through now to FM 2978 it would be convenient to visit your family. You might also look at Spring Oaks RV Park as well as Rayford Crossing, which I have always heard rave reviews about. I live in Magnolia so I've never camped in any of these parks EXCEPT Spring Creek Park in Tomball. FHU's AND free!!! Limited to a week at a time.
