We stop in boardman at the marina park. It's a nice park right on the river.
I believe that there is a state or county park right around hood river/the Dalles that is supposed to be the cats meow.
haven't been to it yet though.

We use Memaloose State Park, has full service, good river view and some large sites. It is closer to the Dalles but is only 15 mins on 84 to Hood River. There is also A County Park near Hood River but as I remember it does not have full hook ups. There is also a decent campground in WA just over the Bridge but the bridge is very narrow. Our other Favorite is Ainsworth State Park near Troutdale but it's a ways from Hood River

We like Maryhill State Park. It's on the Washington side right by the bridge at Biggs Junction. The park is right on the Columbia river. We've stayed there a few times... Always well maintained and good sized campsites.
