Does anyone have any experience with a campground called "A Tropical Garden" located in Santa Barbarba? Internet searches mysteriously turn up very little other than a phone number. Curiously, their phone answers as "Tropical Gardens" with set hours that they will answer. No mention of camping or what they offer on their phone recording. Doesn't sound like a campground/RV park operation on the surface... Check this link and all facilities are listed as "?" instead of a yes/no. Strange...

Also, there appears to be a completely separate location called Tropical Gardens(one of the same?)

sdrider...
Welcome to iRV2!! you have found one of the friendliest RV forums around with many members with a lot of knowledge.

I can tell you that what I found from your link is that it looks to be a Mobile Home park from zooming in here.... They probably have a few spaces for motorhomes...

I hope that helps.

Again...welcome to iRV2...please visit & post often!

Just so happens that I live about 60 miles north of Santa Barbara. There is one RV park in Santa Barbara. Sunrise Rv Park. It is a small park and all the units are very close together. Access from the 101 is also very difficult especially if you are coming from the north. Your best bet is to go about one hour north to Flying Flags RV park in Buellton. Very nice park and reasonable rates. There is another one at EL Capitan. It is Ocean Mesa but very very very expensive but brand new. Beautiful ocean views. Send me a private email at don.croner@verizon.net if you need more information.

There are two State Parks North of Santa Barbara, El Capitan And Refugio. Both take RVs' but check size limitations. Also there is the Rincon Parkway, South, between Carpinteria and Ventura. No hookups, but right on the beach. I grew up in Santa Barbara and the motel industry has done a very good job keeping RV parks out.
Over San Marcos Pass is Cachuma Lake County Park, standard park with hookups. PM for more info.
