Here is some other threads that were posted about your question for you to read through https://www.google.com/search?q=Rv+p...2.com&x=23&y=0
And this is where we spent 2 weeks Hilton Head Harbor and RV Resort and Marina in 2012, 25 miles if I remember right to Savannah..... great location and a wonderful rv resort!

Every time this question is asked, Palehorse promotes the RV resort and marina in Hilton Head. I, on the other hand, prefer the Hilton Head Motorcoach Resort. Before you decide, check it out! Besides being about the same distance to Savannah as the marina, it is in a very bike friendly location, close to the beach and restaurants, the people there are friendly, the pool and club house are nice, tennis courts, etc.

We rode through the Motorcoach resort and it was nice, recluse, and quite. I did not like the tree cover, sure some sites were open but most of them were under cover of the tree canopy, pollen was in full bloom when we were there........... I just do not like sites under trees, I don't like the work and meesssss that come with the tree cover. To each their own
Click on my photo and zoom in on this 400k Coach that was in the resort....
We checked out both places.........

We stayed here: Skidaway Island State Park | Georgia State Parks

It is under heavy trees but really beautiful.

Yeah, I have to agree 100% with you on that point. I am the same way when it comes to staying some place. If you stay on a "forest" site for any amount of time, that will happen. Most of the sites around the lake are open and get very little pollen, bird droppings, or needles on them. That's where we stay. Good for the satellite dish too, if you don't want to hook into cable. Some people prefer the forest... I don't get it

Try Skidaway Island State Park, Ga.
It's approximately 15 miles south of Savannah, Ga., and 25 miles south of Tybee Island (the nearest ocean beach).

We liked the Red Gate campground. It is in Savannah. I don't recall if they have a pool so you may want to confirm that. Note; we don't have children traveling with us. We prefer a quiet location and Red Gate had that.

Red Gate Campground

We loved Savannah and plan a return trip later this year. Take one of the bus tours so you get a good feel for what you want to look at more closely. Savannah has a lot to offer in food and historic sightseeing.
