Hello,

I am relocating to Ocala due to job offer. I am a full timer in a 5th wheel. Can anyone make suggestions for a good park in the area? My office will be in Deland (Once a week) and my area will be Marion county. I have been researching some places on 40 between Deland and Ocala.

I am also interested in hearing about any experience anyone's had with Verizon cell phone and wireless broadband coverage in the Ocala area.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I too am looking at Ocala area, but just for winter. Was there last year and lots to see and do. I have seperate post for info I need but with half dozen or so campgrounds in area you should be able to get a reasonabley priced space. I also have Verizon, so I haope it works also, JG

I posted this in a similar thread. It may be helpful to you.

Ocala Sun RV Resort
About 1/2 mile west of exit 341 off of I75. The contact number is 877-809-1100.
I stayed here for 6 nights in December of 2007. The renovations were underway. The interior roads are gravel. The sites are grass/gravel. There are pull through and back in sites. There is a pool. There is a club house. The place was very clean. It was also very plain. I'm sure once the lots are sold the lot owners will landscape their lots and the place will have a personality. The staff was friendly and helpful. Lastly, they are selling park model homes as well as the lots.

Hi All,

Last winter I spent 6 weeks at Ocala Sun and 4 weeks at Wilderness RV park in Silver Springs!Iwas in that area from Jan. 10th till March 17th. This year I am returning to Wilderness Rv Park from Nov. thru April! I have both Verizon cell and Air Card, both worked very well in the whole area! Hope this helps some!

Thank you for your replies. I like the look of Wilderness RV resort. When I called she told me they do rent to annuals, but all lots are for sale. So it's possible they will sell you lot and you will have to move. Not crazy about such and arrangement.

Anyone know about Waldena Lake Resort?

I am up north towards Gainesville. Sprint and Alltel broadband also work very well in this area. I had a Sprint card then went to an HTC 6800 tethered and it works quite well.

Hi All,

Hey onramp,

I just wanted to say that all the places that sell sites have the same policy, about if your site sells you have to move! However it's not like the sites are selling like wildfire and you will be moveing around the park every week or more! Also I am sure that if the park knows you want to be there for a year and not move alot, they would put you in an area that is not selling much! Hope this helps some!
